Description:

Insectoid is the umbrella term for extraterrestrials with bug like appearances or features, the details of their appearance can range widely between abduction or contact reports, but in most cases they have large, dark, compound eyes. The most commonly reported variant of Insectoid is the Mantid, named after its visual similarities to the preying mantis, or Mantodea. Their limbs are usually described as thin and bug-like, especially in relation to the joints, but on many accounts they have thin skin and muscle fiber as opposed to a true arthropod exoskeleton, this of course depends on the personal account however. These extraterrestrials are often reported to be working closely with the Zeta Reticulans, Reptilians or other extraterrestrials, and many abduction encounters involve medical procedures or experimentation. Reports from abductees vary, and tend to either describe insectoids as caring and gentle, or cold and calculating.

 

Prominent Encounters:

 

Squatting Mantis Man (Prehistory)

In 2017, a unique petroglyph was discovered in Teymareh, Iran. It closely resembles the 'squatting man' style of petroglyph, which is a design that can be found world wide depicting a man squatting with circles on either side. Unlike the usual depiction of the squatting man however; this figure features 6 legs, a triangular head, and bent upper and lower legs, giving it it's mantid appearance. The Teymareh rock art site, where this petroglyph is located, is one of the largest collections of ancient rock art, with over 21,000 rock carvings.

 

Simon Parkes (1960s - Onwards)

The former British local councillor Simon Parkes has stated publicly that he has experienced alien encounters since he was 6 months old. He specifically describes encountering Greys, Reptilians and Mantids. Parkes has many accounts of very personal interactions with extraterrestrials and claims, such as being adopted by a 9ft tall alien as an infant, and being carried to its spacecraft at 11 years old. He describes the being as a Mantid, who by his account have a positive opinion of the human race, while reptilians are averse to humanity. He claims to have firsthand experience of Insectoid society, its workings and has seen the interior of their ships personally. Simon Parkes has also reported to have had intimate encounters with an extraterrestrial, and fathered a hybrid alien-human child.

 

San Antonio (1996)

An anonymous witness submitted a report to MUFON in 2019, detailing an encounter in San Antonio, Texas. The witness describes waking up fully paralized and being face to face with a brown mantid alien, who telepathically communicated soothing messages to him in what the witness describes as a motherly voice. The Mantid is then reported to have surveilled his life history through the telepathic link. While the report is not entirely clear, it seems to imply that multiple other people had been adbucted alongside him and were experiencing something similar. The witness also mentions the prescence of other types of aliens unlike the mantid he was closest to.

 

Jim G (2001)

In 2003, UFO BC published a series of highly detailed personal accounts from a man by the name of Jim G. He states that the first encounter occured at 2:30am one morning in April 2001. A mantis being appeared in his room alongside a cloaked figure, the mantis communicated with the other being through a series of clicking noises before using some kind of metal tool to shoot a green light into Jim's right eye. After this occurance Jim had a series of other encounters that eventually stopped by 2008.
